About OMN

Our Mission:

Open Media Network is a non-profit focused on making it easier to find high-quality video programming by innovative educational, community and non-profit organizations. We are the place to find and showcase video people care deeply about — video that informs, educates and engages the public.

Watching quality programming should be as easy as turning on a TV. OMN downloads programs to your computer so programs can be viewed there, on TV via Tivo or on mobile video devices.

OMN’s Internet TV Viewer service features over 40,000:

  • Free movie downloads
  • Free video downloads
  • Free audio downloads

Producers of quality programming can also make their video downloads or free audio downloads available to anyone using the OMN Internet TV Viewer using our partner tools.

A few more things about OMN:

  • Based in Palo Alto, California
  • Founded in 2005 by Silicon Valley veteran, Mike Homer

OMN provides free Internet TV and related services to audiences seeking high-quality, educational videos and socially conscientious programming. It gives viewers easy TV Guide®-like access to previously hard-to-find content created by noncommercial networks, educational institutions, non-profits and community-based organizations. Based on the most efficient video delivery technologies available today, OMN is thus enabled to provide its standard free movie downloads, free video downloads and free audio downloads in HD- or DVD-quality format. It also lets viewers take their personal OMN libraries mobile or to their living room TVs through TiVo®. Anyone with a public service mission can provide content. Primary content areas currently include: 1) public affairs/service, 2) education, 3) health, 4) arts & culture.
